The following are guidelines necessary to enroll in the new homes plan offered by

Natchez Trace Electric Power Association.

 

The interested builder must do the following:

1. Contact the appropriate NTEPA representative prior to any construction above the

    slab or above the lowest conventional floor.

2 Be able to verify that the home is all-electric*.

3. Be able to verify that the home will use a heat pump for the primary heating and

    cooling needs of the new  home.

4. Use a current member of the TVA Quality Contractor Network to install the heat pump.

5. The new home must score no more than 93 using an approved Home Energy Rating System Program (HERS).

 

 * The new home may be equipped with "one" set of gas logs or "one" infrared gas heater

    (not both in one dwelling) for emergency purposes. This must comply with # 3 above.

 

By following these Guidelines above you could receive:

 

(1) $300 if the HERS score is 93 to 86 (energy right)

(1) $400 if the HERS score is 85 or less (energy right platinum)

(2) One free underground secondary or an extra 200 feet of line extension

(3) If you purchase and install one water heater with a lifetime warranty from the list    

     below you will receive an additional $100.

    

Marathon- all models will qualify.

Whirlpool - only models with the life time warranty and the self-cleaning energy smart control will qualify.
