Natchez Trace Electric Power Association (NTEPA) is proud to sponsor our annual Cooperative Youth Leadership Program each year in conjunction with other cooperatives from across the state of Mississippi. If selected, this opportunity provides a valuable experience to many of our local youth. The program emphasizes leadership growth and community service.
NTEPA accepts 1 male and 1 female nomination from each local high school in our service area each fall. Nominees must be high school juniors with proven leadership skills and involvement in extracurricular activities within their school, church, and/or community. Their parents must be members of Natchez Trace EPA.
All nominees participate in the cooperative’s annual Cooperative University and interview process in the fall, and 2 students are selected to attend the Cooperative Youth Leaders Workshop in Jackson in February along with other young leaders from across the state. In June, the students travel to Washington, D.C., to join youth leaders from across the nation spending a week touring monuments and historical site,s and visiting their legislators on Capitol Hill.
